The Designated Hitter Pro – Pitching Training Dummy
The Designated Hitter Pro is built for advanced pitchers who want a realistic bullpens feel without a live batter. It includes a weighted base to stand independently and beveled edges to absorb contact, minimizing deflection when hit. Its portability makes it suitable for both indoor and outdoor training. Best for pitchers who regularly throw in bullpen sessions and need a sturdy, long-lasting target that stands up to repeated contact.
Who it’s best for: High-level or club pitchers needing consistent reps in small spaces. Why selected: It mirrors live-batter timing with a durable, stable base and long-lasting construction. Caution: Space is needed for positioning at a safe distance to avoid unintended collisions with nearby equipment.
GoSports XTRAMAN Baseball Dummy Batter
The XTRAMAN was developed with coaching input to deliver a versatile training aid for pitchers of all abilities. It helps improve accuracy and safety by simulating a real at-bat without risking an actual batter. The reversible design allows quick switching between right- and left-handed looks, making it suitable for varied practice drills. Best for: pitchers who want a lifelike target with quick swap capability to mirror different hitters. Caution: Its performance depends on a solid setup; ensure it is secured when used at higher intensity.
AOLIGEIJS Baseball Softball Batter Dummy (Set)

It is well-suited for pitchers who want scalable difficulty and clear feedback on location. Best for: players who need a configurable target to challenge pitch placement. The PowerNet Stand-In Batter Attachment is designed for net-based practice. It creates a safe, indoor-friendly way to simulate a live batter with a visible strike zone. Best for: players who train with a batting net and want to practice inside a confined space. Caution: It requires a compatible net (not included) and proper setup height to imitate a real at-bat accurately.
S.C. Products Roger Clemens Pitching Trainer
The Roger Clemens Pitching Trainer offers color-coded finger placement marks and an instructional booklet, guiding beginners through four pitches: four-seam and two-seam fastballs, curveball, and slider. Best for: learners who want clear, structured finger-placement guidance. Caution: It’s a trainer aid rather than a full stand-alone target, so pairing with a batters’ dummy may be necessary for comprehensive practice.
Buying Guide: Key Considerations For Fake Batters

- Durability: Look for weighted bases, durable shells, and beveled edges that reduce deflection after contact.
- Portability: If you travel to fields or parks, prioritize foldable or easily portable units with carrying options.
- Compatibility: For net-based practice, verify the attachment compatibility with your existing netting system.
- Adjustability: Adjustable strike zones or reversible batters help scale intensity as you improve.
